    I wonder if it is the separation of church and state that is making it necessary for anti-abortion activists to engage outside the legal structure? It seems that gender equality, health awareness, and even class related issues might be arising as well. The topic surely is not becoming less contentious, but the pattern of outcomes you identify suggest some kind of change might be in store.

    Keri- I think that your comment about the separation of church and state is a correct one. The alternative tactics are hard to come up with, since science-based approaches have to be, well, science-based.
